Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is a motor speech disorder that makes it hard for a child to speak clearly and consistently. A child with apraxia may know what they want to say but struggle to coordinate the movements needed to produce speech sounds. This can result in inconsistent errors, groping movements, and difficulty with longer or more complex words.
This toolkit helps SLPs, teachers, and support staff screen for apraxia in a professional, supportive, and developmentally appropriate way. It includes informative pages, screening forms, checklists, and visual supports to help guide early identification and communication with families.
