All Or Nothing - A3 oil pastel on 300 gsm paper - sealed - comes with removeable plastic mount frame

"Keeping your eyes open so wide, that the darkness all around you starts to connect with that darkness you've been feeling on your inside'

It's a line from a poem I wrote called 'for the rage' which is about the power of rage. I know it's not always constructive, and it's important to be able to regulate our negative emotions so that we don't get overwhelmed and cause harm to ourselves or others.

But I also truly believe that rage exists for a reason. And I think we should allow ourselves to feel it, and sometimes, to react to it. To let it out. To scream, shout, fight, dance, spiral, cry, wail.....I think there's a purpose to it. I think there's a also a purpose to learning to control it, and to navigating these feeligns and emotions.

But there is a darkness in the world, that gets misused, and could be directed - usefully - if we allow ourselves some time with it.

So this piece is about not closing my eyes to the darkness of life, but allowing myself to find some part of me that is dark too, and to sit with that, and to see what use it has.

Please note as an artist with AUDHD my work often features fingerprints, small dents or creases in the paper, and imperfections....this is part of the artwork for me, as it is not just about the drawing but about the authenticity of my process from making the art to storing it and shipping it by hand whilst struglling with ADHD and Autism
