BENDimist (VST3, CLAP, AUv2, M4L)

BENDimist is the MPE pitch-bend modulator built into CHORDimist 2, now available as a separate MIDI effect by popular request. It draws tempo-synced pitch-bend curves over the notes you play, with any MIDI source, not only CHORDimist.

Choose a shape, set its Length from 1/16 to 16 bars, and BENDimist sends the curve as MIDI Pitch Bend while your notes pass through unchanged. Length follows the host tempo, and Cycles repeats the shape up to 16 times within that length.

Three play modes decide how the curve meets your notes. Global runs one curve over the whole phrase, starting with the first held note. Retrigger restarts the curve on every new note. MPE gives each note its own channel and its own curve, so the notes of a chord bend independently.

Depth sets how far the curve reaches. Random varies the depth of each curve point, and Chance decides how often each point bends at all. The large curve display shows the current shape with a moving playhead.

BENDimist only generates MIDI, not audio.

Place it before an instrument, or route its MIDI output to an instrument track. The instrument's pitch-bend range sets how far the pitch moves. MPE mode requires an MPE-capable instrument.

In Ableton Live with Max for Live, place BENDimist.amxd before an instrument on the same MIDI track.
