God and Mommy: Our Sacred Conversations

Pregnancy is not only the formation of a child. It is also a sacred season in which God can confront, form, and prepare the woman entrusted to carry that life. God and Mommy: Our Sacred Conversations is a 42-week prayer journey that invites the expectant mother to turn her attention first toward God—not simply for comfort, but for instruction, correction, wisdom, and formation.

The governing order is clear: God → mother → child. God is the Source, the mother is the steward, and the child is His creation. That order changes the way pregnancy is understood. Before motherhood becomes an assignment, the mother must first remember who she is beneath God’s authority. She is His daughter before she is this child’s mother. Her identity is not created by pregnancy, and her role is not to control what God has entrusted to her.

Week by week, the biblical instructions invite the mother to examine what is shaping the way she carries this season. Fear, self-reliance, comparison, impatience, the need for certainty, and the desire to manage what belongs in God’s hands are brought into the conversation. Some instructions will comfort her; others will confront her. Each prayer becomes her response to what has been revealed—a place to submit what has surfaced, return to the Source, and allow God to continue His work within her. Because while the child is being formed, the mother is being formed too.

This is not a call to passive motherhood. Sacred stewardship includes preparation, discernment, responsible care, wise counsel, and action. But responsibility is not ownership. The mother prepares and responds while remaining dependent upon the One who entrusted the life to her.

God and Mommy: Our Sacred Conversations is one of the three foundational books in The Sacred Pregnancy Trilogy, alongside God, Mommy and Me: Our Unscripted Conversations and Mommy and Me: Our Intimate Conversations. Before the mother can rightly steward the life within her, she must remain connected to the Source from whom that life came.
