I Get Rough is a high-energy showcase of the confidence, style, and lyrical attitude that defined Mikey D & The Original L.A. Posse during the late 1980s.

Recorded between 1987 and 1989 as part of The Paul C Sessions, the track captures the raw excitement of hip hop’s golden era, when originality and microphone skills ruled the day.

One of the song’s most unique elements is its bassline, which was created from Rahzel’s voice and sampled by Paul C, years before Rahzel would become internationally known as The Godfather Of Noise. This rare piece of hip hop history highlights the creativity and innovation taking place during these legendary recording sessions.
