A book of poetry by Seon K Lewis.
Seon grew up in the cool hills of Juan-de-Bolas, St Catherine in Jamaica. His first poem was written for the birthday of a close friend, Shereen In March 2006 while he was a student at the University of the West Indies. Spurred on by encouragement from those who read his poems he continued to write and recite poetry at church and the UWI Mona branch of UCCF (Universities’ and Colleges Christian Fellowship). His poems have been published in the Jamaica Sunday Gleaner more than 20 times and he has performed at the Aunty Roachy Film, Television and Literary Art Festival upon the invitation of the JCDC.
He has received 5 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals for poetry from the JCDC (Jamaica Cultural Development Commission) National Creative Writing Contest along with 2 Best Adult Poet and one Best Intermediate Poet class awards. He won Best Writer for 2011 in the JCDC National Creative Writing Contest. In 2012 he entered the JLS (Jamaica Library Service) National Reading Competition and was declared the St Catherine Parish Champion for the 21 and over age group. He represented the parish at the national final at TVJ studio. In 2013 he successfully defended that title winning the Parish of St Catherine two years in a row.
