What if I am not happy?

If you are not happy with my first revision, you have a second is included for free if you request it within four days.

What types of documents do you proofread?

Blogs, ebooks, books, YouTube scripts—anything, I suppose! If you have something that you believe is uncommon or problematic, send me a message before placing an order.

Do you provide help with screenplay format?

This gig will proofread and edit a screenplay as if it was normal book manuscript. That is to say, I will edit the actual words and punctuation, but do not offer any assistance regarding the special formatting the film industry requires for shooting scripts.

What if I need more words?

There are three package sizes, each with their own additional words extra. If this still does not accommodate your needs, then please message me and I will happily create a custom order for you.

Will you help with plot points or character creation?

Gee, that sounds like it would be a LOT of fun! This gig, however, is for improving spelling, punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, flow, clarity, vocabulary, etc. Perhaps I should create another gig!

What number of spelling or grammatical mistakes are considered acceptable?

Exactly zero.

Will you rewrite sentences?

Only if I see any that need it. That could be one or two, or it could be a great number. I trust my gut, and it never lets me down. I'm detail-oriented and quite picky, so if I don't rewrite much, consider it a complement!

What experience do you have proofreading?

I grew up living with two English teachers (my mom and my aunt), so we were all constantly correcting each other's sentences as a family. My teachers in high school and college were so impressed, that they wrote to my parents praising my English. Since then, I have edited several blogs and books.

Are you a native English speaker?

Yes, I was born in the northeastern United States and have lived in the country for over thirty years.
