34 - Livia SLWC - Term 1 (Chapter 2)

Summary:

Sobald sie im Krankenhaus ankommt, wird Livia vom Pflegepersonal in einen Rollstuhl gesetzt. Nach einer MRT-Untersuchung erhält sie die Diagnose des Arztes: ein teilweiser Bänderriss im Sprunggelenk. Deshalb wird sie für ungefähr 40 Tage einen Gips tragen müssen.

Livias erste Sorge gilt jedoch nicht direkt der Verletzung, sondern vielmehr den Outfit- und Schuhkombinationen, die sie in dieser Zeit anpassen muss. Ganz die Eitle wie immer greift sie noch vor dem Betreten des Gipsraums zu ihrem Handy und schreibt ihrer besten Freundin eine Nachricht:

„Freundin, du wirst es nicht glauben. Ich habe mir den Knöchel verstaucht und brauche jetzt einen Gips. Und ganz ehrlich, ich werde das Krankenhaus bestimmt nicht in Flip-Flops verlassen, okay? Könntest du mir bitte einen Gefallen tun und bei mir zu Hause ein Paar Stiefel holen? Also… eigentlich nur den rechten, denn mein linkes Bein wird die nächsten 40 Tage eingegipst sein.“

Die Folge beginnt damit, dass Livia bereits für den Eingriff vorbereitet ist. Trotz ihres Images als starke, elegante und erfolgreiche Frau hat sie einen großartigen Sinn für Humor. Während der Gips angelegt wird, macht sie einige scherzhafte Bemerkungen über die Situation, bringt den Orthopäden mehrmals zum Lachen und sorgt für eine lockere Stimmung.

As soon as she arrives at the hospital, Livia is placed in a wheelchair by the nursing staff. After undergoing an MRI scan, she receives the doctor’s diagnosis: a partial rupture of the ankle ligaments. As a result, she will have to wear a cast for about 40 days.

Livia’s first concern, however, is not exactly the injury itself, but what outfits and shoes she will have to adapt during that time. As vain as ever, she grabs her phone before even entering the cast room and sends a message to her best friend:

“Girl, you won’t believe this. I twisted my ankle and now I have to wear a cast. And obviously I’m not leaving the hospital wearing flip-flops, right? So I wanted to ask you a favor: could you stop by my house and grab a boot for me? I mean… just the right one, since my left leg is going to be in a cast for the next 40 days.”

The episode begins with Livia already prepared for the procedure. Despite her image as a confident, elegant, and successful woman, she also has a great sense of humor. While they are applying the cast, she makes jokes and playful comments about the situation, making the orthopedic doctor laugh a few times and lightening the mood.
