Rhus is born from my interest for minimalist stitches.
I was thinking about a warm winter hat while still being pretty obsessed by the broken lines pattern i created for Sumac. And it became obvious that this motif could also be very nice displayed around a hat. Simple, easy to knit but very satisfying.
Instructions are provided for two different yarn weights, Aran and Worsted, this second version also offering a nice stitch variation. Which means that you’ll be able to knit three different hats according to your wishes and you stash.
In addition, the worsted version is a fun and useful way to swatch for Sumac Sweater and to get a matching set of hat and sweater if you also plan to knit it.
Rhus is knitted in the round from the bottom to the crown, and a particular care is given to the cast on, using a tubular method whose detailed instructions are included in the pattern.
Fun and quick to knit, very relaxing and rewarding, Rhus is the perfect companion for busy times !

Rhus est le fruit de l’intérêt que je porte aux designs minimalistes. J’ai eu envie de poursuite la piste amorçée autour du Pull Sumac et ses textures, et le motif entêtant des bâtons rompus s’est imposé comme le point parfait pour un bonnet simple, élégant, rapide et agréable à tricoter.
Les instructions sont écrites pour deux types de fils (“aran” et “worsted”), la version worsted étant elle même déclinée en deux options de points. Vous pouvez donc tricoter trois bonnets différents, selon vos goûts et vos fils !
Rhus est tricoté sans couture, en rond, en partant du bord-côte. Un intérêt particuler est porté au montage des mailles et les indications pour en faire une jolie version tubulaire sont incluses dans le patron.
