Recipe 2 - Know Your Customers

If knowing your Start-Up is the heart of company existence, knowing your customers is what motivates your heart to act (or keep pumping). The needs and wants of future and current customers will drive organizational processes, workflows, product development, and service delivery. Mapping your customers’ journey(s) means exploring their expectations. This ensures you are developing and delivering a seamless, relevant, meaningful, and delightful eXperience that cultivates long-term relationship for repeat business as well as customer advocacy.

Having well-defined personas helps you build closer relationships with your audience, improve customer experience and engagement, and, ultimately, improve your bottom-line results. Just as in real-world relationships, there is no substantial conversation between strangers. Without knowing who your customers are—what they like, need, want, fear, believe, are motivated by, and how they process the world around them, among other things—it is nearly impossible to have an authentic, meaningful conversation (much less compel them to take action with your solution).
