Sometimes you need a top that can take you from the beach and the boardwalk by day, to the “summer lovin’ ” of the boardwalk at night! This top is inspired by the silhouette popular in the 1950s, and can be knit in playful colors for a casual look; or chose something more sultry that can take you into the evening as well! Neckline is customizable to create a boat neck or a slash neck!

CONSTRUCTION
Designed to be worn with 0-2” of negative ease, the Boardwalk Blouse is knit from the top down starting with the upper back. The front is cast on separately, and worked identically to the back. The two pieces are joined at the underarm, worked in the round and shaped to the hem. Shoulders are seamed, making the neckline width customizable, then stitches are picked up and knit around the armholes to create the ribbing.

This allows the fibers to be stretchy and hug the body to achieve this vintage style silhouette. If you are substituting yarn, the next best option would be wool. A 100% cotton yarn will not have elasticity and will not achieve the look pictured.
