The Red Death

John Hale was cleaning his gun when the lady arrived. She tells him that her brother has been murdered and she wants to know who's to blame. A strangeness surrounds her death, an odd specter of hidden dealings and future science driving a wedge between two hidden factions in the New York underworld. Finding the truth will take him through the hidden corners of the city, across a carpet of bodies laid out by both sides, to an infamous slaughterer who never misses.
