Advanced Algorithmic Trading

In this introductory chapter we will consider why we want to adopt a fully statistical approach to quantitative trading and discuss Bayesian Statistics, Time Series Analysis and Machine Learning. In addition we will look at what the book contains, the technical background you will need to get the most out of the book, why it diers from the previous book Successful Algorithmic Trading and choices of backtesting software for the strategies we will discuss at the end of the book.
