The Steps

The Steps, it's about our life as a small entity in spacetime with death constantly looming over us, about our conflicted world, human inadequacy and inherent self-sufficiency, about the vulnerability of a child and our close relationships. It is also a confrontation with our trendy, deceitful society, where media propaganda increasingly replaces analysis and independent thinking. This poetry collection may also be challenging to interpret in every detail, but the beautiful imagery with breathtaking metaphors brings joy to reading. Lithner's poems have a strong subtext, dizzying depth of thought, and often connect to historical references and the world of ancient gods. - Sune Axelsson
