Designed to celebrate my 10-year anniversary as a knitwear designer, Echo is a tribute tomy very first design, Juno. It reflects a decade of designing, experimenting and learning, while bringing together some of the things I love most about knitting: thoughtful construction, considered details and an outstanding fit.

The Moonstruck Gusset gives the sweater a beautiful fit, allowing plenty of ease and movement without compromising the silhouette. And with generous opportunities for colorplay, Echo is a perfect canvas for making the design truly your own, whether you prefer bold contrasts, subtle neutrals or something completely unexpected.

CONSTRUCTION

Echo is worked seamlessly from the top down. Stitches for the neckline are cast on, then short rows are worked to raise the back of the neck. After that, the textured yoke pattern is worked, and additional short rows are introduced to angle the neckline forward. Once the yoke is completed, the sleeve stitches are placed on hold, and the body is worked in the round down to the ribbing. For the body, you can choose to work the sweater with or without body shaping.

The sleeves are worked from the top down in the round after working the Moonstruck Gusset at the underarm for a smoother line and better fit.

Finally, the stitches for the mock neck are picked up from the neckline and worked in the round in 1×1 rib.

A video tutorial is included for the Moonstruck Gusset and the Sewn Tubular Bind-off (in the round).
