Inspired by the landscapes of Utah, Skyline features a bold geometric motif that echoes mountain ridgelines, winding trails, and the layered horizons of the high desert. Knit from the brim up, the hat begins with a deep, cozy ribbed brim before transitioning into an engaging two-color pattern and a simple crown decrease. The stranded colorwork uses only two colors per round, making it an enjoyable project for knitters who are comfortable with the basics of stranded knitting or looking to build their colorwork skills.

This pattern was designed especially for the 2026 Utah Yarn Crawl as a collaboration between Handwork and Seed Stitch. The sample shown features Handwork’s exclusive Lake Bonneville colorway from Yarn Nouveau paired with Seed Stitch’s exclusive Topaz Sky colorway from Spincycle Yarns—a celebration of two local yarn shops and the beautiful landscapes that inspired them.

Whether you’re knitting along during the crawl or casting on later, this hat is a wonderful way to commemorate Utah’s vibrant fiber community.
