NIMO

Naeema Sky (Naeema "Nimo" Ahmed) was born in 1982 or 1983 in Somalia.  Her actual date of birth is not known because her birth certificate was lost during the Somali Civil War of the 90s.  Other than a few pictures now held by relatives, she has never regained anything of her life before the Somali Civil War started.  As a child, she was taken to live in the wilderness of Somalia for an unknown number of years after her life in the city.

After the Somalia Civil War destroyed her likelihood of living in Somalia, she escaped with her family to Kenya.  In Kenya, she was granted refugee status along with her family.  During that time she lived with her family in a refugee camp tent as a home.  She left Kenya with her family after gaining alien status.  They arrived in California on November of 1993 where she first learned English and began pursuing her lifetime of learning.

She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a double major bachelor degree in African American Studies and Legal Studies.  She has earned a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law.  She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two sons.  She plans to continue studying law and religion.  She finds her passion in pursuing knowledge especially in research and writing relating to God or religion and legal justice worldwide.  This E-book memoir is a work in progress telling her story.
