The chamois (Rupicapra pyrenaica)
The chamois is a smaller ruminant than the wild goat. Adults weigh between 25 and 35 kg. Both of you
sexes have small and hook-shaped horns, but those of the males are a little thicker and with the
hook more closed than those of females. Unlike deer, doe and roe deer, chamois do not
they lose their horns every year. Interestingly, a study published in 2014 shows that chamois are
getting smaller, apparently as a result of global warming.
