Trials and Command: A Retelling of The Tinderbox and The Princess and the Pea - SIGNED Paperback

An interconnected standalone fantasy romance retelling of The Tinderbox and The Princess and the Pea. Packed with court intrigue, forced proximity, and realistic romance with zero spice.

Keenan can’t ignore a woman in danger. But protecting a shepherdess has never landed him in a magical bargain with a queen.

Keenan’s work is his life – that, and evading arrest for brawling after defending yet another stranger. When foul play leads to his license being revoked, he volunteers to guard a young foreigner hunting for a missing nobleman. But the trouble she didn’t expect drops him in the lap of a princess with a prophecy and her scheming mother who will do anything to break it.

Friendship with commoners was dangerous before Princess Sakura received the prophecy that will cost her the throne. Now, it’s unthinkable. So when her mother insists the injured weapon-smith who stumbles up to their castle in the middle of a snowstorm is a prince, it’s the last thing she needs.

Almost – because now her mother is ordering her to pretend she’s in love with him to secure her inheritance.

Keenan doesn’t buy it, but stuck with her tagging along on a quest the queen won’t let him refuse, it’s hard to avoid her sparkling black eyes and subtle wit. Falling for her isn’t an option, though.

Because he doesn’t trust her or her mother – and the key to her crown might be too powerful to give up. No matter what it costs him to keep it.
