This little quilt was originally made as a cot quilt for a new nephew, but it makes a lovely little lap-quilt as well. A template is provided and you can choose whether to piece the hexagons by hand, over papers or by machine. The print hexagons can then be appliqued to the background,or you can piece the background from hexagons as well - your choice. A blank quilt is given for you to colour in to create your own unique design. A little Sashiko-style quilting completes this quilt.
Measuring 23 x 30 inches and using 1 1/2 inch hexagons (length of side) this is an ideal hand-stitching project to carry with you, and use up those scraps of Japanese prints.
Sorry the photo isn't that great - I gave the quilt away without taking a final photo so this one shows part of it before it was finished. And said nephew is now a strapping lad of 21.
