Virginia’s POV

They say you should never let a man name your kids if you wouldn’t trust him with your credit. I learned that late. Nine babies deep and this man still out here thinking birth certificates are branding opportunities.

He gave our twins one name split in two. He gave Baby Number Six a name I still can’t pronounce. But when he tried to name my last baby Crimzynn-Aliyah Dior Monét, I knew he didn’t just lose his mind. He lost access.

So I took the name back.

I named her Reign. And I meant it. She’s the storm and the crown. She is the line in the sand. And if he wants to stay in her life, he has to meet me in the fire. Not with words. Not with charm. With proof. Because this time, love isn’t enough. He has to show me he knows what it means to build.

Lorenzo’s POV

Virginia been mine since the Waffle House parking lot. That’s where she saw me first. That’s where I fell. And somehow, through every messy year, every baby name, every missed promise, she kept showing up. Not for me. For them. For us.

But I kept getting it wrong. I thought a name could make up for presence. I thought glitter meant love. I thought I could dance around the hard parts and still come out king.

Reign shut all that down.

She came into this world loud and sacred. And Virginia looked me in the eye and told me no. That little word did more damage than any slap. It made me look at myself. Real hard. And real honest.

Now I’m learning how to stay. Not in her bed. In the life. In the real. In the every-single-day.

Because Reign deserves her full name. And Virginia deserves more than a man with rhythm. She deserves a man with range.

This ain’t a sweet romance. It’s the kind that makes you feel everything. Loud. Rough. True.

Nine kids. One baby who changed the rules. And a woman who stopped asking for love and started demanding legacy.
