Liner Notes
I birthed the idea for this album three years ago, after I experienced a miraculous recovery from a combination of health issues, where doctors had said I only had 3-5 years to live. That was 2021. At that time I had a head injury, complicated post-concussion syndrome from a severe covid infection, which also left me on oxygen and with 50% lung capacity. I couldn’t walk to the bathroom without being out of breath and the oxygen kept me from being hypoxic at night. I also was going through intense grief after the loss of a relationship, a career, a lifestyle, caring for my aging mother, trying to find a way through medical roadblocks. As my lungs got better (2023), other issues arose, with a second and third COVID infection. Dysautonomia resulted from a series of events with deadly blood pressure spikes that we couldn’t control for over 3 years (up to 232/117). I struggled with weight, crippling fatigue, brain fog and pain throughout my entire body from fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis. The entire time I was also allergic to everything. My immune system turned on me and was hyperreactive, so almost every medication I took sent me into anaphylaxis or severe bronchospasm. No one knew what to do, even the acupuncturist and holistic practitioners at the time. I had miserable gut issues that in the fall of 2024 caused me to be taken by ambulance to the ER where on a CT they found I had cancer of the cecum in my colon and had been experiencing chronic appendicitis for up to 2-3 years prior. My surgeon said my appendix saved me because they would have never found that cancer if the appendicitis hadn’t been triggered. I went through a long surgery, complications after, and a process of rehabbing my legs from nerve damage that lasted 6 months. But I am here today, battle scared, but no evidence of disease.
The entire healing process for the first three years involved a sacred process of communion between me and spirit. Love energy and angels, the Sacred Mother, Jesus the Christ, the God of all Creation laying hands and wings, wrapping around me and fulling my body with light, healing me.
When I was taken to the hospital and the found cancer, all I could hear was God/Spirit’s voice. It continually told me, “Trust me. Walk through the door. I am here. Trust me”.
I can’t say there were not moments that I flipped out in fear and hysterics. There were. But in that moment, spirit rescued me, as it had the past five years and throughout my life.
Someone told me I was a modern day Job. And being reminded of that story, a story of a man of deep faith and spirit having everything taken away to see if his faith would was real and could continue. Like Job, I didn’t pretend everything was fine, at least all the time. I cried oceans of tears, felt my heart break open, and cried out to God. God continually said, “I am with you, trust in me. Keep trusting.”
Job humbles himself, acknowledging that he does not know everything—but he has encountered God more deeply than before. In the end, Job’s life is restored, and he is blessed again. But the greatest gift is not the restoration—it is the relationship and deeper understanding formed through suffering.
I liken this to turning graves into gardens. By finding my voice again to sing on God’s command, on spirits direction, and on the greatest relationship of my life, the one with the all loving spirit of love that I call Creator God.
“If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Matthew 17:20
I am a interfaith, spiritualist that knows no denomination at this point in my journey with God. I’ve been baptized into several churches, followed and practices all kinds of paths western and eastern alike. Where I have found God for me is, well, everywhere.
Every flower, every grain of sand, all is written in God’s hand. – from Sacred Earth
I invite you into some Musica Divina time if you will…. Sacred listening, sacred replays and singing along or humming, or just absorbing the music however you connect with it. This is my story, this is my song and I will sing to the heavens forever in praise of the miracles of this life.
May it bring you to a place of communion.
May it bring you to a place of peace.
May it brighten and aliven your spirit in hope of a brighter day full of unconditional love and acceptance.
May it honor your life and give you abundant love and grace.
So it is.
Amen.
Shalom.
