The Project Quality Plan (or PQP) is your greatest ally when it comes to quality assurance, when it comes to maintaining and assuring quality, it’s important to have a process laid out, in the absence of organization quality is impossible. The PQP provides you with the steps necessary to maintain and assure quality in such a way that it is easily understandable and beneficial to the client, engineer and contractor alike.
When producing or constructing anything there needs to be a clear system of checks and balances, the right people need to check off on something before said product continues on to the following step in the process. The product quality plan exists to clearly outline the specific needs of the particular project as these needs are subject to change depending on the task at hand.
The PQP will serve as your guide and will give you the necessary tools to make informed and correct decisions that serve whatever specific situation or product you are involved with. An essential part of quality control is that the steps are documented and data is kept so that all issues can be traced back and dealt with accordingly, this too is outlined and addressed. With documentation comes communication, as has been formerly stated there need to be checks and balances and people who are the keepers of these checks, when working as a team it's imperative that the dialogue between individuals regarding quality assurance is accurate and informative.
The steps towards ensuring qualitative products are outlined in this Project Quality Plan, working as a group towards the common goal of a great product and a satisfied client. Quality assurance is the backbone of all productions because assessing risk and ensuring high standards are met means safety, it means satisfaction and it means your construction product etc. is associated with success and quality.
