Hi! My name is Emily, the writer and director of a short film-in-the-making called "The Boy Who Beat Up Liberty Valance". The story of this short film began out of pure necessity. At the time, I was scrambling to put together a reel to apply for graduate film school, and I needed something that would showcase my skills. I asked myself: "What do I have to work with?"

My first thought was my little brother and his friends. They are a tight-knit group with a passion for theatre and quickly became my cast. I gathered them together, rounded up some resources, and began to think up a story. One night, while watching an old western film, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, the idea of remaking Liberty’s story took shape.

The script practically wrote itself after that. It felt like the script was waiting to be pulled out of thin air. With a great beginning foundation, the project was off to a running start. Along the way, I met new collaborators, and my team began to grow. What started as a small idea has quickly become something bigger - which is where you come in!
