The Ebro Delta is the largest wetland in Catalonia, with a surface area of 320 km2. It constitutes one of the most important aquatic habitats in the western Mediterranean. The balance between its natural wealth and exploitation by man has never been easy, which is why, in 1983, the Generalitat de Catalunya approved the creation of the Ebro Delta Natural Park, which occupies the counties of Montsià and Baix Ebre
