The Harvest Festival is often celebrated on the Sunday nearest to the Harvest Moon. A time of giving thanks to God for His provision; a time to acknowledge our reliance upon His world, and our obligation to care for it. We can be thankful for the bounty found within nature. It’s also a time to remember and give thanks for farmers, and those involved with the harvesting of our food, those who process and transport of our food, and those who serve us in the shops where we purchase the food for our families.
