Tanzania Safari Itinerary: 7 Days, 4 Safari Areas & The Big Five

Planning a safari in Tanzania can feel confusing, especially when you are trying to understand the route, driving times, accommodation, activities and how everything fits together.

I created this 11 page itinerary based on the exact trip we followed in Tanzania, so you can use it as a starting point when planning your own safari.

Inside, I share our day-by-day itinerary, where we stayed, approximate travel times, activities, practical tips and things I wish I knew before the trip.

The itinerary also explains how you can request a private safari and ask the company to customise the trip for you. 

I also planned this trip with budget in mind. We did not choose the most expensive safari camps or luxury lodges, but the accommodation was still lovely, comfortable and much better than we expected. This makes the itinerary a great option for anyone who wants an amazing Tanzania safari without spending a fortune.

If you would like to combine the safari with Zanzibar, you can also ask the tour company to include it when creating your trip.
