Understanding The Healing Power Of God

For the past twenty years, I have used the method of the laying on of hands to minister to those in the Body of Christ who were being oppressed by sickness and disease. This method is one that Jesus commissioned the Church to use in the sixteenth chapter of the Gospel of Mark, verses fifteen through eighteen. Many have testified that they've actually felt the healing power of God go into their bodies. Yet you speak to some of the very same people three months later, and most of them are still very much bound by the same sickness and disease. There didn't seem to be any effects from the healing power that was administered to them through the laying on of hands. As I searched the Word for answers, I discovered that there was one main reason why they were not being affected by the healing power that had been administered to their bodies. The reason was clear: It was the result of a lack of knowledge. As I continued to study, I discovered that there were two main areas that the sick lacked knowledge in. The first area is the lack of knowledge that when hands are laid on them, the healing power of God is at that moment administered to their bodies. This knowledge alone will make being prayed for in a prayer line so much more valuable and precious. The second area is the lack of knowledge as to what to do with the healing power of God once it has been obtained. We have been giving people the healing power of God through the laying on of hands, but then we've been guilty of not instructing them as to what they are to do with it once they have obtained it.
