The Application Brief: Cycle Support

From now until your child has a place. The session, the written plan, two rounds on the personal statement, all five choices reviewed, clearing support if it comes to that, and me on the other end of an email whenever something comes up.

Why families take this one

A single session gets you a plan. Most parents don't need a plan — they need someone to check the plan is still right in October when the predicted grades come back lower than expected, and again in December when the personal statement has been rewritten four times and nobody can tell anymore whether it's any good.

The application cycle isn't one decision. It's about twenty small ones spread over eleven months, each with a date attached. This is for parents who'd rather not make them alone.

What you get

The 90-minute strategy session. Course selection, how to spend your five choices, what the personal statement actually has to do, predicted grades, three years versus four, and the Irish and Dutch routes most families never look at.

A written action plan within three working days. One page, your child's cycle, your dates, in order.

Two rounds on the personal statement. Written comments on structure, course fit, and what's missing.

All five choices reviewed — the realistic range, the reach, the insurance, and whether the course requirements match the predicted grades.

The under-18 walkthrough. Signatures, visa route, travel and accommodation timing.

Clearing, if it comes to that. If the offers don't land or the results come in under the predicted grades, clearing is a genuine free-for-all — places open and fill within hours on results day in August. I'll be available that week: which courses are worth calling, what to say on the phone, and how fast you need to move.

Email access throughout. Ask me anything as it comes up.

Frequently Asked Questions

I already booked a Strategy Session. Can I upgrade?

Yes. Your $850 is credited — the upgrade is $1,150.

How long do you stay with us?

Through to results day in August of teh application year, including clearing if you need it.

What if my child doesn't get the grades?

That's what clearing is for, and it's the part families are least prepared for. Places at good universities open on results day and fill the same day. We plan your fallback options in advance, and I'll walk you through the week in real time.

What if my child's school is already handling this?

Most schools are doing their best with a counselor covering hundreds of students. I'm not replacing them. I'm the person who reads the fine print with you and tells you when something doesn't add up.

How fast do you reply?

Within one working day, usually sooner. I have a full-time job, so I batch email rather than answering at midnight — but nothing sits for long.

Do you write the personal statement?

No. I comment on it. UCAS applications have to be the student's own work, and a statement written by an adult reads like one.

Do you guarantee admission?

No. Anyone offering you one is lying to you.
