This foundation paper pieced quilt pattern contains the templates for two different lightning bolt blocks. Both patterns are simple and easy to sew.
The flash pattern was initially designed as the first border of my Flash Cat Medallion Quilt, but I soon realised that it is very versatile and can be used for all kinds of other purposes. My Harry Potter loving daughter adores the drawstring bag that I made for her using these blocks. You can also use these patterns to sew mini quilts and cushions (suggested layouts are included.
The pattern does not include instructions on how to paper piece, but it does include:
1. Pattern templates that include a 1/4 inch seam allowance
2. Cutting templates that can be used to cut your fabric to size
3. Written instructions including printing and cutting instructions
4. Instructions and diagrams to creating a border for the Flash Cat central block
5. Instructions on how to resize your block. (The finished block measures 5 x 5 inch. You can easily resize the block if you wish, but in so doing the cutting templates will no longer work.)
