Very great book.

This helps me learn Taiwanese even deeper. It’s really hard to find information where people can teach you Taiwanese mandarine. Finding something like this was not only a life saver, very useful but it was SUPER hard to find. I definitely lucked out. However I encourage everyone to learn the mandarine characters and pronunciation before reading this book. Otherwise it won’t sound right haha.

Danyo's handbook is so helpful for learning Taiwanese mandarin that you would typically never be able to learn elsewhere. It has relevant phrases and stuff that only Taiwanese people would know and say. I highly recommend if you want to impress your Taiwanese friends or just want to learn this style of mandarin.

Real Taiwanese Mandarin

I really wished I found this book before. Most of the material you find for learning Chinese is focused on the Mandarin spoken in Mainland China so when you try to use it in Taiwan people may not understand what you are saying. Anyways, it's good to have this kind of book, and hope to read more material about Taiwanese Mandarin.

Great resource!

There are not that many Taiwan-specific mandarin sources, so I really appreciate this one! It is full of useful vocabulary. The only thing that I would like to be different is more example sentences.

A well researched, compiled, easy to digest, practical, and engaging resource!

I stumbled across this phrasebook (and subsequently Danyo's resources) by chance when a friend shared about it on their IG Stories. This phrasebook was so well researched, compiled, easy to digest, practical, and engaging. As a Taiwanese American, I loved reviewing nostalgic phrases, while also learning new phrases as well. I appreciate the ways this resource makes distinctions in Mandarin in Taiwan, as well as including helpful notes on Taiwanese Hokkien and Japanese pronounciations/origins of phrases. Grateful for this resource! I'll definitely be referring to it in my next trip back to Taiwan!
