Episode 10 of the African elephant wildlife film series, In the CROSSROADS OF GIANTS - ELEPHANT BABY 2.
In the wilds of northeastern Botswana a truck is involved in an accident with an elephant on a national highway. A baby elephant barely a week old gets separated from its mother and herd. The herd moves on and the baby is left behind. Stranded, all alone, abandoned on the side of the road.
Truck drivers stopped to help - and before long the elephant had been attended to and relevant authorities informed. That evening the baby elephant was handed over to Elephant Sands Lodge. An ideal location with much elephant activity - where the baby elephant could be rehabilitated and hopefully reintroduced back into the wild some day.
This baby elephant needed to survive. To recover from its traumatic time losing its mother, herd and family. It needed to eat, to sleep, to move. This baby elephant had to want to live. That was the first step going forward. A journey with highs and lows, with laughter, as well as a tear or two. A wildlife adventure from the heart of Africa. This episode also gives perspectives on baby elephant behaviour in the wild.
In the CROSSROADS OF GIANTS is an African elephant wildlife documentary series like no other. Elephant life is filmed up close with a fresh, immersive approach. It's like being there. It is possible, that after watching In the CROSSROADS OF GIANTS, you may never look at an African elephant in the same way again. (Series 22 x 11 minutes). Enjoy the film. Love from Africa.
Part of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to the WATER FOR ELEPHANTS TRUST to help thirsty elephants in northeastern Botswana.
