I passed the EPPP on my 5th attempt and in those four years, I tried everything I could think of to learn and integrate the material. I compiled many of my ADHD friendly study aids and created the Ganas & Go! Mindful EPPP Journey Mind Map Study Aid™ to help you learn and integrate the material so that you can pass the EPPP once and for all!

This is a labor of love and post-traumatic growth work as a result of my own EPPP journey, and it is why I now embrace the identity of being an Exceptional Psychologist Purposefully Persisting (EPPP). My mission and passion is to address the mental health disparities among underserved and marginalized communities and as a result of my EPPP experience, I am now working towards equity in the licensing process for psychologists, particularly for first-generation, BIPOC, and those who are neurospicy!

I did the “brain chart” and the “brain table” and all the neurotypical ways of studying. This is great for many people, but it didn’t work for me. So instead, I created a “visual mind map” version where I could integrate all of these domains into one page. It really worked! Suddenly, my brain was able to make connections that it struggled with before. And, my differential skills improved. So it didn’t matter how they asked the question, my brain was able to visualize, recall, and retrieve the information that I needed.

In short, the Mind Map Study Aid is a visual, ADHD-friendly conceptual map that integrates the major EPPP domains with clarity and organization. You can organize psychological disorders by: neurotransmitters, brain regions and functions, prevalence, prognosis, symptoms and symptom duration, medications, interventions, and differential diagnosis. This approach may help with deeper retention and integration of information.
