Bonnie’s POV

I wasn’t supposed to want this.

Not again. Not after the last time shattered me.

But when I met her, Daddy, something deep inside me stirred. She saw through the smile I wore like armor. Saw the little girl buried under fear, shame, and soggy secrets. And instead of turning away… she offered me a warm blanket, a bottle, and the kind of care I’d only dreamed about in whispers.

Now I’m in her lap, her bed, her heart, wrapped in diapers, trust, and something dangerously close to love.

And for the first time, I’m not running. I’m waddling straight into forever.

Bonnie was made for my lap.

She just didn’t know it yet.

One look at her, and I knew. The pouty lips. The guarded eyes. The little tucked deep inside, begging to be seen and kept. She didn’t come to me trusting, I had to earn it, layer by layer, crinkle by crinkle.

Now she’s mine.

My baby girl. My stormy brat. My softest thing.

And I’ll change her under every apple tree in the world if that’s what it takes to keep her safe, small, and smiling.

Because she’s not just wet.

She’s wanted.
