When I'd first heard how much my landlord was hiking the rent on the building that housed my florist shop, I'd been furious. Angry enough to tell him what he could do with his lease. In hindsight, it wasn't my finest moment. However, fate had a surprise in store for me—the bargain of a lifetime.

I'm waiting next to the front door of my new premises when the team from Lucky Break Construction arrives. On taking in the building industry's answer to Chippendales, my eyes widen. Could this be the turning point I've been hoping for? When Josh Kendrick finally arrives, I know it is.

Once again, I'm running late. It's not my fault I have trouble reading the traffic lights. I'm fine if I take my time, but hurry and I'm as likely to run a red light and kill someone. All thoughts of having an accident crash and burn when I first lay eyes on Daisy Green.

It's a different matter when I take in the ramshackle building before us. While heavy with the detail beloved by the Victorians, to my eyes, it's also a monotonous sea of gray. Fortunately, with Daisy by my side, the future is looking bright.
