“Finding a Good Career”

 

     Isn’t it that they are more advanced in giving me this answer? This is the first answer that my students cited after hearing the question. I was amused of the connection between language and career. They believe that being able to speak English fluently is an assurance of getting a good job in the future. But going deeper into their answers, being able to speak and write the English language correctly is really an advantage in applying for a job. I know from the start that people who are able to communicate fluently are those that are most often hired for almost all jobs in the Philippines. Starting from the being a sales lady to call center agent and many other jobs. Oral fluency really plays a big part in the good performance of these jobs. Without it, certainly these people could not attain a satisfactory rating in the performance of their jobs. This is probably one of the importance of learning the language. This is the point of view that my students wanted to utter. It is a really important attribute of a person in getting a good job that he must have a good language.
