Squirrel foundation paper piecing pattern
This cute squirrel has lots of character and is a challenging but fun make. Use the finished block as a mini quilt or as part of a larger creation. I made mine into a wall hanging!
There are endless colour possibilities with this pattern, just match the tones to the original pattern and you can use any colours you fancy.
I'd love to see what you come up with, use the tag #EtiveAndCo on Instagram to share your creations!
This squirrel pattern contains some of small segments (particularly around the detailed eye) so is great for an intermediate to advanced paper-piecer. The pattern will produce a block that is approximately 14x14 inches which could be used as part of a larger quilt or as a tabletopper or placemat. The PDF also includes instructions to scale-up the pattern to make a quilt of any size.
This PDF download includes:
❤ Printable pieces
❤ Tips for sewing the pieces and directions to piece the sections
❤ A diagram for planning your colour scheme
❤ Instructions to scale-up the pattern to create a larger quilt
❤ no y-seams
The pattern does not include instructions on how to paper piece. I have made a paper piecing tutorial which is available on my YouTube channel, Etive & Co, and includes a free mountain pattern practice with.
