No room for a Christmas tree? Or don't like needles all over the floor? Why not make a patchwork wall-hanging?! Two ideas in one pattern - make a square (ish) hanging with a pieced background or just make a simple triangle. All you need is some Christmas scrap strips. Embellish your tree with beads, buttons, sequins and ribbons or leave it plain - your choice. The simple design is based on Log Cabin with the strips being sewn in triangles instead of squares. The square(ish) tree is roughly 40 inches; the optional triangle tree has fewer blocks (I ran out of fabric!) and is therefore smaller. Probably not a beginners project as there is an element of 'design it yourself' involved.
