Joana returns home from the gym, her hands full of groceries, clearly tired after a long workout. As she steps into the hallway, she doesn’t notice the shoes her roommate left in the middle of the floor.

In a single careless step, everything changes - her foot lands awkwardly, her ankle twists over the shoes, and she immediately collapses the groceries to the ground. A sharp wave of pain hits her, and she instinctively grabs her ankle, now pulsing and rapidly becoming more sensitive.

Struggling to stay composed, she sits down and calls her roommate Alex for help. When he arrives, she’s already overwhelmed - the pain makes it difficult for her to even let him touch her ankle. Every small movement causes discomfort, and her vulnerability is obvious.

He helps her up, supporting her as she leans on him and slowly limps toward the sofa. Each step is uneven, careful, and painful. Once seated, he removes her shoe, revealing the injured foot - already beginning to swell.

Since the first moment is clear, that he is up to something. As he tries to assist her, he insists on checking the ankle closely, explaining that he needs to make sure it isn’t broken. When her removes and shoes and socks, her secretly sniffs them. He elevates her leg, pointing out the swelling, and leaves briefly to get ice and basic supplies.

When he returns, he gently applies the ice, but even the lightest contact makes Joana react - her body tenses, and she can’t hide the pain. Every adjustment, every touch near the ankle triggers a sharp response.

He then begins a careful examination, pressing around the foot to locate the most sensitive areas. Whenever he gets close to the injured spot, Joana reacts immediately - the pain is intense, and she can barely tolerate it. Testing movement proves even worse, as her ankle feels weak and unstable.

Finally, he concludes that it’s a severe sprain. With slow, deliberate care, he wraps her ankle in an ACE bandage and secures it with an Aircast, stabilizing the injury.

At the end he offers Joana a small foot rub.
