A Cookbook in Aid of Cancer Research UK.
In September 2012 I was diagnosed with an Adenocarcinoma of unknown primary, otherwise known as Cancer Unknown Primary (CUP).
At 35 years old I was told that this was rare, and as the cancer had already spread to my lymphatic system, it was also classified as terminal. I am now determined to prove that wrong!
I am lucky enough to have some wonderful friends who have thrown themselves into raising funds for research into this particular type of cancer, of which many people are completely unaware.
The money raised from this recipe book will go to Cancer Research UK and will then be directed specifically to research into CUP cancer. We really hope that those of you who have contributed to the book will enjoy seeing your recipe displayed and that you also enjoy reading and using the other recipes. We obviously also want all your friends, family and colleagues to buy this book too, so please act as our distributor and encourage people to buy it!
When asking people to contribute to this recipe book we asked them to think of dishes that celebrated eating with friends and family. My happiest memories and favourite evenings have been dinner parties with friends, starting with long nights crammed aroundkitchen tables at university, through to evenings which may now have a better class of wine but are still just about friends getting together to catch up.
I hope that in the years to come I will be part of many more memorable meals with you and that maybe this book provides some new inspiration or perhaps just a bit of a laugh!
