The Life, Times, and Tragedy of Woodrow Wilson and the Progressive Era
This set of four lectures examines the life, career and tragic presidency of Woodrow Wilson. Wilson passed landmark legislation including women’s suffrage, prohibition, real limits on corporate power, and consumer protection and tried to guide America towards a fundamentally new role in world affairs – all motivated by high-minded progressive ideals. Such achievements were attended by epic failures and history altering shifts in power that left progressivism dead for a generation and left America more isolated and the world more unstable.
