Communicating Deficiencies for Effect
An Interdisciplinary Approach
An Interdisciplinary Approach
This course explores professional communication and customer engagement strategies within the kitchen exhaust cleaning industry, with a focus on addressing commonly resisted deficiencies and corrective actions. Participants will learn how to apply principles from SPIN Selling, The Challenger Sale, and Think Beyond Value to real-world KEC scenarios involving cleaning frequency recommendations, duct accessibility, exhaust fan access, grease containment systems, and solid fuel exhaust systems.
Through practical roleplay examples and field-based discussions, students will develop techniques for identifying deficiencies, communicating operational and compliance implications, reducing resistance to perceived “upsells,” and guiding customers toward informed corrective action decisions in a professional and defensible manner.
