Belgian Chain of the Order of Leopold


The Order of Leopold, is Belgium's oldest and highest Order of Belgium and is named in honour of its founder, King Leopold I in 1832. The Order consists of a military, a maritime and a civil division.


The collar of the Order is in gold, and is worn with the badge on a collar (chain) or on a sash on the right shoulder, plus the star on the left side of the chest.


The Chain of the Order is in gold, with nine crowns, nine face-to-face monograms 'LR' (for 'Leopoldus Rex' for King Leopold I), and eighteen lions.
