The third of my Isle of Skye inspired designs, Undulation is all about the continuous up & down shape and movement inspired by the sea around Skye. This wave motion is then manifested by undulations of the surfaces in the landscape of the island.

The shawl is an asymmetrical, sideways knitted triangle and begins by casting on for the lace border along the bottom edge. Stitches are then decreased along the left side only, down to the point at the opposite end. The right edge stays unshaped, allowing for the bobble element to be carried up from the border, creating a decoratively framed edge.

A large and super cosy shawl, with changing lace and texture patterns and show-casing Shilasdair’s beautiful Smuid Yarn which is lovingly hand-dyed by Kirsty and Simon on the Island using only natural ingredients.
