Book Three of the Shay Donovan Series

"Adoption Can Be Murder"

Shay Donovan Gets Life or Death Call

After five long years living in DC and another half year working a case in the winter months in Connecticut, Shay Donovan was in sunny Florida at his favorite resort. Shay had lost his tan and desperately wanted it back. In his beach bag, he hears his cell ring. He was now frustrated with himself and would leave the pesty thing in the room. He punched the sand, rolled to his side, and glanced at the screen. When he saw it was a New York number, he calmed down. "Good, it must be a wrong number," Shay immediately thought. Unfortunately, Shay's curiosity got the better of him, and instead, he gave a long exhalation to calm his conflicted mind. Shay's curiosity was high alert, and he gave in. As the man on the other end of the line spoke, Shay knew it was his long-time Military friend, Vic Benvenuto: Vic Benvenuto, the man who had saved his life. Vic was an Italian macho-talking tough guy, but they had the same issues with women.

After Shay heard Vic's short version of the physical fight he had with four members of a gang of thugs. It seemed that Vic interrupted their attempted rape in the rest room a local Mens Club. Now, Vic was the target of the total gang.

Shay gave Vic a long list of toys for Vic to find—the kind of toys that weren't allowed to be brought on the plain. Shay felt great that he could finally repay the man for saving his life many years ago. It was not just the repayment; Vic was also in trouble. The repayment didn't matter to Shay. Shay deeply desired to help the man he once called a friend. Vic was indeed in need of some help, but what kind of help?
