♫ The Music ♫
Stompin’ Tom Connors is a Canadian music legend; his Halifax Song (Old Atlantic Shore) is the perfect musical muse for this design.
“It’s a long ways down to Halifax town
Where the great white seagull flies
But the big blue sea, it’s a-callin’ to me…”
I have indeed returned to the Maritimes – travelling by train from Toronto through Montreal and on to Halifax – thoroughly enjoying “The Ocean” experience with its dome car that let us see the splendour of autumn colours in which Mother Nature had clothed herself. And so the railroad and beloved sea are reflected in this design which will ever be a reminder of our return to the East Coast.
Pattern Notes
Irregularly spaced twisted rib columns complement the offset cable in these toe-up socks. The heel flap is worked in a reverse slipped stitch pattern. A Celtic knot is worked on the back leg while the gentle intertwined cable continues uninterrupted on the front leg.
Both charts and written directions for charts are provided. Individual charts are provided for both the right and left sock.
