About the Arrangement
This arrangement is a faithful transcription of the recording by Joel Nascimento and Arthur Moreira Lima, accompanied by nine great choro musicians on the 1985 Manchete program. The adaptation was carefully crafted to bring the bandolim’s musicality to the violin, allowing the performer to explore the nuances and expressive character of the piece.
The piano writing retains the freedom and melancholy present in the original recording. It is highly recommended that the violinist listen to the reference recording to understand the atmosphere and the role of the piano in the accompaniment. Additionally, the soloist’s interpretation is flexible, encouraging personalized phrasing and dynamics to preserve the authentic spirit of the piece.
