Moral law for character development (VIA) - Considering the 7 sins and virtues
We value virtue but do not discuss it. The honest bookkeeper, the faithful wife, the earnest scholar get little of our attention compared to the embezzler, the tramp, the cheat. - John Steinbeck
We begin by defining the moral law and its involvement in the changing nature of lifespan development and behaviour. Then we discuss the 7 sins and virtues as defined by the greek philosophers, christianity and western philosophy. Then considering philosophy ethics on its own terms as a counter balance to the virtues/sins.
