“Color Theory is mandatory (not optional) training for professional makeup artists. We live and work in
an HD (high-definition) world. Our work in print, video, and film is scrutinized under a lens that sees up
to 6x closer than the human eye and can be presented in full HD, formatted up to 5,000 sq ft (IMAX). In
this environment, complexions MUST be matched exactly (skin depth and undertone), and all other color
makeup choices must be compliant with the technology. That level of precision can only be accomplished
when you’ve mastered the science of color theory. There is no excuse for bypassing this training if you’re
an artist planning to build a successful professional career in the 21st Century.
