Comp Duplicator

Duplicate your entire comp hierarchy in one click - directly in the timeline.

The Problem

After Effects native Ctrl+D duplicates the comp — but every layers inside it stays shared with the original. Edit one, you edit both. Fixing it manually means duplicating comp in project panel and then bringing it to timeline, applying effects and animations again, relinking layers, and rewriting broken expressions. It takes forever.

The Solution

Select the pre-comp layer in your timeline, run the script, and a fully independent duplicate appears directly above it — exactly like pressing Ctrl+D on any other layer.

Every nested comp inside it is also duplicated. Every comp inside those comps is duplicated. All the way down, no matter how deep the hierarchy goes.

All the effects and animations on the comp also get applied on the duplicate comp.

Now you can edit any comp independently.
